Okay, change of series again (!) but this time, I’m on to something. First I had Squares & Bubbles which had a concept but which had to end pretty soon because that concept was too restricted. Then I didn’t have any particular ideas and just started throwing out random crap under the title Lehooo Vision. After a while of that, I realized it was better to not have any special series when I didn’t have a theme, so I dropped Lehooo Vision and just titled them LEHOism Comics, which is the umbrella term for all my comics, and started counting them by their number from the very start of Squares and Bubbles, which made me realize I’m closing in on number 100 soon.
Now, we’re here, today. I sat down to draw something and did as I so often do: drew something random and then tried to come up with a dialogue or single speech/thought bubble when suddenly, I got an idea. What if I just pointed my trusty Google Chrome (which you all should use by the way) to Twitter and just used the text of the latest tweet? I did just that and this is the result. The idea was probably inspired by other comics with seemingly unrelated text and images such as Exploding Dog, wherein the artist, Sam Brown, asks his readers to send in short phrases (or sentences, utterances, questions, what have you) and then uses his bizarre sense of association to create an image around that phrase; Whispered Apologies, wherein one artist first draws a comic (usually, if not always, single panel) without text and then lets another comic creator write dialogue for it and Married to the Sea, wherein Drew and Natalie Dee take public domain illustrations and adds weird and funny text, often containing unexpected utterances and/or non sequiturs to them; all of which you should definitely check out immediately if you haven’t done so already.
